Gold Plated Serkyem

  • The serkyem, or ‘golden drink,’ is a ritual vessel and plate used in making liquid offerings to peaceful and wrathful Dharma protectors. Our serkyem is made of high quality hammered copper darkly oxidized to prevent rust featuring gold plated highlights and detailed engraving.

  • While engaging in practice, we are likely to encounter many obstacles. In order to ensure that practitioners have the tools necessary to overcome these obstacles, great masters of the past, through their boundless compassion, have pledged a host of protectors. The role of these deities is to guard the teachings and practitioners. These beings are emanations of buddhas or bodhisattvas, known as supermundane protectors, as well as spirits and demons, known as mundane protectors. All such beings have been subjugated and bound under oath by great practitioners such as Guru Padmasambhava. Among the best known protectors are Ekajati, Mahakala, Dza Rahula and Damchen Dorje Lekpa.

As Dharma practitioners, we are committed to liberating every single sentient being. Through making such offerings to the Dharma protectors we forge the auspicious circumstances under which the dharma and our practice may flourish free of obstacles.
